Kaohsiung Li De Baseball Stadium
Kaohsiung Li De Baseball Stadium, commonly known as Li De Baseball Stadium and formerly known as the Kaohsiung City Baseball Stadium, is located in Qianjin District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. It is the oldest baseball stadium in southern Taiwan.
Stadium Overview
Li De Baseball Stadium is located along the Love River in downtown Kaohsiung, near Qianjin Junior High School, Qixian Junior High School, the Kaohsiung District Court, and Kaohsiung MRT Qianjin Station. With its prime location, the stadium offers excellent accessibility and convenient transportation links.
In addition to being the only stadium in Taiwan with iron fencing installed along the entire infield sidelines, Lide Stadium also features a distinctive outfield seating design. One of its key advantages is that all outfield stands are equipped with roofing, providing shade from the sun and protection from rain.
While Chengcing Lake Baseball Stadium surpasses Lide in many aspects, Li De Baseball Stadium remains an indispensable venue for hosting baseball games in southern Taiwan. With timely renovation and functional upgrades—or the construction of a modern, large-scale stadium at an alternative site—it could better accommodate a wider range of sporting events.
To prepare for the 2009 World Games, the Kaohsiung City Government renovated both the hardware and software facilities of the stadium to meet the requirements for hosting softball competitions. The outfield stands were dismantled and integrated into the scenic landscape of the Love River.
From Kaohsiung International Airport
Option 1: MRT + Walking (Recommended)
- Take the Kaohsiung MRT Red Line from Kaohsiung International Airport Station (R4).
- Head north and get off at Qianjin Station (O4).
- Exit via Exit 1, then walk approximately 5–10 minutes to reach Lide Baseball Stadium.
Option 2: Bus + Walking
- You can also take a bus to a nearby stop and walk from there:
- Recommended bus routes: 0 South, 0 North, 1, 2, 77, 14, 25, 56, 60, 76, 78, 91, 99, 248, etc.
- Get off at “Zhongzheng 4th Rd. / Bank of Taiwan” stop, then walk to the stadium.
Option 3: Taxi / Private Transfer
- Taxis are readily available outside the airport. The ride takes approximately 25–30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
From Zuoying High-Speed Rail (HSR) Station
Option 1: MRT + Walking (Recommended)
- From HSR Zuoying Station, enter the Kaohsiung MRT Red Line at Zuoying Station (R16).
- Take the train southbound and get off at Qianjin Station (O4).
- Exit via Exit 1, then walk approximately 5–10 minutes to reach Lide Baseball Stadium.
Option 2: Taxi / Private Transfer
- Taxis are available outside the station. The ride takes around 20–25 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
From Kaohsiung Railway Station
Option 1: MRT + Walking (Recommended)
- From Kaohsiung Railway Station, enter the Kaohsiung MRT at Kaohsiung Station (R11/O5).
- Take the MRT southbound and get off at Qianjin Station (O4).
- Exit via Exit 1, then walk approximately 5–10 minutes to reach Lide Baseball Stadium.
Option 2: Taxi / Private Transfer
- Taxis are available outside the station. The ride takes about 10–15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
